I bought these because my daughter's ears got terribly infected while wearing Claire's "sensitive" earrings, which are said to be for those with new piercings. These butterfly earrings are gorgeous and not too big for an 8 year old. The only problem is that the spines come off too easily because the stem isn't very pronounced at the end. She sleeps in it and hasn't lost it, but I would be more comfortable with a more secure seat.
