My grandson was born 3 months premature, so he spent the first 2.5 months of his life in intensive care. He was hooked up to monitors, ventilators, CPAP machines, and feeding tubes. With all that on the side, he hadn't learned to self-soothe, thumb sucking, etc. When he finally got home, bedtime was becoming a nightmare. He will cry forever until his parents finally pick him up to hold him or put him to bed (dangerous!), but they also need some sleep. Eventually the pediatrician told them to stop. Well, they finally released the angelic "Lovie" blanket that they received as a gift. He pressed it to his face and it seemed to comfort him. He is now 1 year old and still uses his angel blanket. We all have a few "just in case". I bought 3 for home, car and stroller. Without her there would be none. money well spent.
