Review on pH Refresh Alkaline Water Pitcher: Multi-Stage Filtration System for High pH, Pure Drinking Water - 2.5L / 84 Oz by Jessica Redmann

Poor design and cheap material

I chose this item because I wanted to reduce the acidity in my system, it seemed like the right size to me and had good reviews. I didn't buy it because there is something bad in my tap water. It's amazing and one of the clearest bodies of water of any city in the US. (Thanks to Oregon environmental laws) It didn't affect flavor very much, but other flaws were noticeable. Difficult to fit in my fridge door holder due to the design. It takes up a TON of space because it's oval. If it were square or rectangular, its shape would better match the other items in the door holder. The requirement that you always keep the filter submerged means you have to pour quite a bit of water into it, making it heavy. , and lets it spill everywhere when you try to pour out some filtered water. I wonder how much the filter actually affects the water because it rushes straight through the filter almost as fast as I can pour it. The lid does NOT stay. And because of the very cheap plastic the jug is made of, I was pretty sure the jug would break before the filter needed replacing. The "timer" on mine was everywhere. At first I couldn't get it to work, and then it kept giving me different day counts. I have no idea how I'm ever going to find out how many jugs I've used (to know when to change the filter). At first I wanted to use a jug every day, but when I had to keep refilling to close the filter I lost count. Ergonomic? What on earth could make an object like a plastic water pitcher "ergonomic"? And if it were "ergonomic", the question would be for whom? I hate it when manufacturers claim something is "ergonomic". There is simply nothing that fits every person and every purpose. It's just a $5.00 word they throw in there, knowing that the average consumer only knows "ergonomic quality". Then they ask for an ergonomic evaluation? I am an experienced ergonomist and set ZERO. It's unbalanced when full and the grip is slippery and quite large for my small hands. Save time and money and find something else. I'm pretty sure this isn't what you need.
