I'm really surprised at the quality of these brushes given the price. Shocked, really. I have brushes that were a lot more expensive but didn't even come close in quality to these. The bristles are synthetic (which is actually a plus, despite what you've been told about natural bristles, because natural bristles allow bacteria to multiply much more easily). and much more prone to breakage and wear and tear over time!). Although they are synthetic, they are very soft. They're also very full, so you'll get excellent coverage with these brushes. This particular brush set is much better for contouring and fine application, so keep that in mind when purchasing. They are not intended to be used in large quantities, such as powder, etc. (although you can use the largest for this). I use loose powder almost exclusively, but I also have pressed eyeshadows so these are perfect. These are the best eyeshadow brushes I've ever used. I also use pressed eyeshadow as eyeliner and brow filler, and the little brushes in this set are perfect for that. I love this set so much I will probably get all my friends and family a set for Christmas.
