This is a great starter set of nursing pads. The set includes three pairs of bamboo pads with a waterproof base and four pairs of cotton pads. Waterproof pads are best for the first few days of breastfeeding, when leaks are more common and severe. They are also good for nighttime use. As there are only 3 pairs of waterproof pads I would recommend buying more to have lots of them (at least 7 pairs in my opinion). Now that my baby is older and I don't leak as much, cotton pads come in handy for daytime support and not as bulky in my bra. The cotton pads pick up random drips but end up leaking to the other side with a strong leak. Both types are very gentle on my skin. I like the cotton pouch for storing clean pads and it's great that it also includes a laundry bag because they can get mixed up in the washing machine or get stuck in small areas of the washing machine. Be sure to wash with clothes of the same color as bamboo nursing pads can pick up fibers from other clothes and will look dirty if they pick up darker fibers from other clothes. In general, the set is very worthy and will be a great gift!
