the computer is slowing down

a very strange thing. I'm using it with a new 2018 15" MacBook Pro. I plugged it in and noticed a lag every time I used a mouse or trackpad. For example lagging. I thought something was wrong with my computer. After I ran it for a while while unplugged I noticed the lag was gone. I tested it with a hub removed and connected and got exactly the same results. This OS didn't have anything connected to the hub. Otherwise worked everything as it should I use a computer for a linked photo so it's useless at work
