They are designed to be placed under the car but I wanted to light up the back of my truck so I can look inside at night. I also wanted this to be a light on my tool box. To be clear, I had to make a number of changes to bring it to the back. It was difficult to connect all those tiny wires but it's up to me as I used it for the other purpose it was designed for so it's not a problem with the product. The 3M adhesive on the headlights is strong, although I prepped the areas with an alcohol swab to ensure the surface was clean. The LEDs were housed in a transparent, durable package. Installation requires you to find an AC fuse in the car. You may need a part that converts one fuse into 2. If you're lucky you'll find one in the engine compartment. Unfortunately, the battery fuses were in the cockpit under the dashboard, so the power cable had to be routed through the firewall. Luckily, a little research on YouTube showed that it's possible. It took me some distortion and a little understanding of 12 volt systems, but I was able to get it working without much effort. The application did. Use a little work as there are many Chinese characters with no English translation. It took a bit, but if you're tech savvy enough, you can figure it out. Overall it would be a lot easier to install them under the car instead of using them like I did, but I'm happy with the result.
