Review on πŸ”† Sunco Lighting Dimmable LED Lighting - The Perfect Equivalent by Chris Shepherd

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I really wanted these lamps, but.

So I decided to give these bulbs a few days before writing the review to see how they perform. I bought 3000K and 4000K bulbs to see the difference for myself. They entered the open kitchen and dining room. I ran these lamps with Lutron LED compatible variable brightness dimmers. To be honest, I have to admit that after these 4-5 days I am a bit disappointed. Rather than arguing about what disappointed me, I'll briefly outline the pros and cons: Pros: The light is very bright. 4000K lamps have an almost full daylight feel but can appear a bit cold due to the bluish tint. I have to say that overall I prefer the 3000K as they are also very bright but pack quite a bit of heat. In my personal opinion I would stick with 3000K for most of your home lighting applications unless you absolutely need that sunlight for color correct applications. Cons: Flashlights have a 2.5 second turn on delay after the switch is activated (not ideal). I also notice flickering in the light at different brightness levels. I know this is not related to using the wrong dimmer as I have a version that is compatible with Lutron LEDs. This is most noticeable at the lowest brightness setting, but can also be noticed at higher brightness levels. At the moment I'm not sure if it's entirely up to the 60Hz mains and it's not very sharp in terms of vibration intensity, but it's definitely noticeable in the room and also when looking at the bulb. To be honest, I didn't notice this until a few days later, so I'm not sure if this artifact just surfaced. Top verdict: If you're looking to switch to LEDs, I'd say high-end, ie. higher cost, LED bulbs if you can. If you're looking for some cheap energy savings and are willing to put up with the above drawbacks, I'd say go for it. However, the question of the longevity of these lamps is still not accepted, but if this flickering gets worse I would say it's a total waste in terms of utility. If this is the case, choosing an LED bulb for the price will prove to be a moot point. I hope this review was enlightening ;)
