After repeated use, not a single bent stake remained in the drought-hardened Texas soil. This new set, boxed by Kelty, is identical in quality and durability. And not at a ridiculous price. I recently got another big Sierra Designs tent and it came with all these crappy Y-posts. At the FIRST exit, heads buckle and break off at least three pegs! Complete garbage. Why does this otherwise excellent tent come with pathetic panels? I believe this is a fundamental flaw of the Y bet - there just isn't enough material in the 'catch' of the tie. I have no idea why the whole industry switched to them. The stakes do not have to be Y-shaped. you? Is there a reason they need to be omnidirectional? Anyway, enough about those Y-rings. THESE J-bets are the rule! If like me you've been frustrated, this is your remedy.
