If you don't like heavy duvet, this is for you. If you want softness, this is not for you. It's not soft or plush - it's a quilted material. I wanted brown to match the colors of my bedroom. As mentioned in some reviews, the color fades after the first wash. I haven't had any issues with falling apart or quality. I find the quality to be good. I wanted something light so it wouldn't get too hot and something my pets could lie on without too much worry. This works fine for both. Because it's lightweight, it washes well. I've only had it for a few weeks so can't comment on how long it will last or how future washes will affect it. Overall - I agree, not overly excited - but okay with that. I would recommend if you need a light duvet that can fade.
