Made a HUGE mistake buying them.

I just want to start by saying that it was well packaged and everything was inside. However, it's not 100% worth it. It just doesn't smell. It's more as a decoration or part of a gift basket or whatever rather than making you smell really good. I have a very small room. Maybe 188 square feet at best and I have it all over the room including the closet grouped in groups of 3-5 and nothing. It's actually more my fault than anything else I thought would work. It's kind of an "easy exit" mentality where I'm looking for something that doesn't require a lot of constant work. The truth is, if you want a really nice smelling place, REALLY do it and it requires at least a WEEKLY effort - Use Glade carpet powder or something similar when vacuuming; When mopping, make sure you use something that smells nice too. Don't forget to dust and sweep. Likewise, when dusting, use Pledge or something else that smells nice. Open the windows for fresh air from time to time. You can also use an air filter fabric to filter out pollutants, pollen, etc. and place the air purifier in the rooms you use most, or in every room if you can afford it. Always have a fan handy to keep the air circulating. . Try to keep the doors open as often as possible to avoid stuffy rooms - Wash all curtains, bedding, etc. weekly. Use good quality detergents and fabric softeners. I personally like everything related to Febreze. Tide has some really good options. Use air freshener aerosols and fabric fresheners sparingly. Maybe every 2-3 days. Again, Febreze is the main thing I work with. They are popular and have good reviews for a reason. Buy plants! Plants always smell good. Just make sure you buy the right plants for the places you want them in your space, and then just keep watering them (but not too much!). Finally, avoid 24/7 USE of candles, incense sticks, essential oils (plugged in, diffuser, etc.). They are actually good when used sparingly (like air freshener jars and fabric fresheners), but using them all the time every day is actually bad for our health. We're not designed to breathe this stuff 24/7. I just see a lot of people going overboard with them, myself included, so I avoid them. They don't even work that great anyway. Many candles get hit or miss, the smoke from burning incense sticks is generally not very good for our health, essential oil diffusers stay within a relatively small radius of the device, and essential oil inserts work very well, but they don't last long and get expensive very quickly, especially considering how many rooms you put them in. There are also "gelsโ€ that are designed to simply dissolve and add a pleasant smell to the room. I bought 6 of these, used 4 of them and got none of them in my small room. Another one of those "bad decisions" I made. If you want your home to smell good, you have to be willing to put in the effort. This means regularly cleaning your space, buying plants and keeping an eye on them.
