The problem I had with photographing my children was that they always wanted to see what the picture looked like. Taking selfies with your phone has never been a problem since you are looking at yourself. With this camera, the screen pops up and they can see themselves, so there's definitely an incentive for them to look at the camera. Now I get photos where they are actually looking at the camera instead of to the side. The picture quality is better than my cell phone. What I didn't think was possible with this camera was razor-sharp motion pictures. I was able to catch my eldest daughter in the middle of a jump, but instead of having a blurry face, I saw her smiling face in mid-air. Nothing is blurred at all. When my battery is low, I can charge it all the time while I keep shooting or shooting. It comes with 2 batteries which is very useful when you have a big family and always try to capture moments before the kids get too big. Regardless of whether my flash is on or not, the image quality I get is amazing. I thought I would have to spend a fortune for the quality I get but not for this camera. Playback when recording videos is also as sharp as if I were there. You can definitely take selfies with this camera because you can see yourself and make sure everyone is in the frame. Fits my tripod with no problems. Also, if I'm trying to take a family picture, I can just flip the screen and make sure we're all on the screen. And when you set up the timer screen, you can see the timer and know how much time you have left before the picture is taken. Very useful and easy to use camera.
