The material is thick and appears high quality. The cut was more stylish than I expected with a small flare when she turns while still being a standard uniform dress. Our 5.5 year old is tall (48+ inches) and muscular, and the 7-8 fits with plenty of room to grow but doesn't look silly (6x was almost tight and a tad short). We also tried the Nautica and French Toast versions, but they were the cheapest and fit so well that we went with them. The fit is just above the knee on our kid, but not by much. And she wore the dress on a 35 degree day with no complaints, so hopefully that means the material isn't too hot. Winner!
