Rolls Royce under the shower shelves

Pros: Stable, easy to assemble, large shelves. Cons: expensive! I thought long and hard when I saw the price of this shower rail, but OXO is a great brand and the reviews were reassuringly good. So far I haven't been disappointed at all. The first thing to know is that despite the folks at OXO, the fit and function of this shower shelf was very good. 1) It's extremely durable 2) The instructions are easy to follow. 3) The pole was installed in less than 15 minutes including unpacking, reading the instructions and placing all the tubes and bottles on the shelves 4) The pole is oval in shape with an internal ratchet that engages with a lever at the base of the Cash. After the blocking, the post will remain in place. (I will update this review if the ratchet fails and the bar falls off in the future.) 5) There are four oversized shelves that snap onto pre-mounted brackets. The brackets move up and down the rack but stay in place after the shelf is snapped into place. You have to remove the shelf to move it up or down. It turns out that this is not so important. I found adjusting the placement of the shelves to be pretty easy. 6) There are three shelves with metal gallery to keep things from falling off. The bottom of these three shelves is made of sturdy white plastic trays with ventilation to drain water. Also, there are large openings to turn half-empty bottles upside down so thick contents can flow out easily. The white plastic bottom of the shelf can be removed for cleaning, which is very nice. It's also nice that the bottoms of the shelves are mostly flat, so items placed on them don't tip over. 7) The fourth shelf is just a white plastic vented "soap dish" that is slightly smaller than the other three shelves. This tray has two hooks. I wish the other shelves had hooks too, but I don't mind. I recycled the hooks from my previous shower rod. They don't fit well, but they will. I think the fourth shelf in the gallery would make more sense than that tray for the "soap dish", but that doesn't bother me either. There is more than enough space on the shelves for all my bottles, tubes, jars, razors, brushes and sponges. Highly recommended.
