Rating is based on 4000k Cool White. I have installed many lights and have never installed anything as simple as this one. I'm a DIYer so not a pro - I was afraid to mess with junction boxes etc so I really liked them. It was so easy! Just drill holes, route wires, insert wires into the quick connectors attached to each light and voila, DONE! So easy! I was also concerned about the brightness of the light. We wanted something bright, but not so bright that it burns out your eyes. I'm happy to report that cool white is perfect! Great product!
