Non-submersible good for CB radios and two way radios

I bought one of these to use with my SH portable radio. This works great, but you have to pay attention to two things. First, the volume of the transmitted sound is very low unless you gently hold the microphone directly to your lips and speak loudly directly into it, which is normal when hand-held. However, if you have a mic on your lapel or shoulder (which I do because I need my hands free), you have to turn your head and speak into the mic (or unplug and hold the mic), which is very difficult among active ones Conditions to do and it's a royal pain. Second, even if the mic says "submersible," you have to be careful with that because while you can get the mic completely wet without permanently destroying it, getting wet means the speaker will stop working (the mic will still work , so you can send but not receive). And by "wet" I don't mean you have to submerge it in water, I mean that rain and splashes can get it so wet that it stops working. I know it wasn't a radio because when I took the microphone off the radio worked fine. Once the mic has dried it works again (so I think it's technically submersible as submersion won't permanently damage it) but if you're outside and it starts to rain you can also remove the mic and the radio use yourself. There is a chance that the problem is water in the plug and the speaker is disconnected, but mine was installed securely so the problem is still related to the water resistance of this unit.
