carried this bag while traveling in europe and it was great! Both outside pockets are perfect for our passports and the top zip gives me a totally secure feeling. It's small but sufficient for the essentials. I had a phone in an outside pocket, a wallet, meds like Rolaids and Tums [hey, this is Italy. you ALWAYS eat] and our vouchers are always with us and sometimes our passports too. The little flashlight inside was great for evenings when we were getting ice cream or looking for a fun hawker. I could see what money I was taking without taking out the whole wallet. Yes, some evenings it wasn't as fashionable and beautiful as we would like, but it was very useful and that's the most important thing. We've been home for a few weeks now and I'm still using it!
