Review on Ultimate Magnetic Makeup Palette: Store 70 Magnetic Eyeshadows, Highlighters, Blushes, and Powders by Rebecca Porter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

4 shades broke and YES the pans were magnetic.

When I put my eyeshadow collection here for the first time, 4 well-packaged eyeshadows were broken. I had the palette folded (neatly) and laid flat on my desk and when I opened it 4 shades just fell apart and YES the palettes were magnetic. 2 were eyeshadows from Urban Decay which never had a problem in their previous home (a large zpalette sitting upright in my makeup drawer), 1 was MELT eyeshadow in matte and the other was baked eyeshadow from BH Cosmetic. They were pressed firmly against the magnet in the pallet and never pushed. They literally NEVER changed. There was a lot of space between the shades and the valve/mirror. My hypothesis is that there are a lot of magnets in this palette that caused the pans to flex just enough to destroy the shadows when closed. Obviously the "beds" of the pallets are magnetized (2). There is a flap for 1 bed and a flap with magnetic closure (2). The final magnetization then takes place with the final folding of the entire assembly. There are 5 magnet points in total. I'm very sad because I really liked this concept and packaging, and I also have 4 shadows that I had to throw in the trash. I don't think this is the companies fault and judging by other reviews of this product I am stunned by this failure.
