Review on Curtis Dyna Fog Hurricane 1 Gallon Adjustable by Tiffany Allan

High Quality Fog Cannon

The Curtis Dyna-Fog Hurricane Ultra II is a superb portable ULV fog machine with all the features you need for many medium-duty jobs. Although there are many inexpensive portable foggers on the market, they are generally designed for low-volume, casual use. On the other hand, the Hurricane Ultra II is better suited for everyday use with high volume. It's a well-built device that works well. I intend to use this fogger for disinfecting public areas and controlling outdoor insects. We have to answer a nagging question you might have... price. This is not a cheap product. If you are looking for foggers, you can find many similar devices at significantly cheaper prices. At first glance, all of these other products appear to work in the same way, but in most cases this is not the case. First, the Hurricane Ultra II has an adjustable droplet size range from 10 to 50 microns. Many competing products do not have such a wide range. It is important? Depending on what you're trying to combat and what product you're trying to spread, this is one of the most important factors when using a fogger. For different nebulization purposes, different sized droplets are used for maximum efficiency. All you are doing is wasting time and money spraying the wrong size droplets. Secondly, this product disperses both water and oil based products and can disperse highly viscous products (to the limit). Many others on the market are not dual purpose and therefore less versatile. Third, quality and reputation. In my opinion, this product is intended for commercial use and is therefore designed to last a long time. Other products can be made just as well, but Curtis Dyna-Fog have been making fog machines, including municipal sizes, for over 65 years, so I have more confidence in their product than a fake. After all, this fog machine is designed, engineered and assembled in the USA; This is not an imported product. Now to the fogger itself. This is a ULV (Ultra Low Volume) fogger. The dispersed liquid is drawn from the holding tank where it mixes with the high velocity swirling air created by the blower. There it breaks up into tiny droplets and is sprayed out of the fogger. The droplet size is determined by the amount of liquid withdrawn from the tank. The more liquid, the larger the droplet size. There is an adjustment knob on the tank that regulates the amount of liquid drawn in and also locks the flow. The droplet size can be adjusted from 10 to 50 microns. The knob is located just below the smoke machine's incline adjustment, making it a bit difficult to see and adjust. This can be done on purpose so as not to accidentally hit the handle. The storage tank holds up to a gallon of liquid. With a maximum flow rate of 50 microns, the tank will be empty in about 20 minutes. There is an adjustment that allows you to tilt the smoke machine in relation to the tank. I found this useful when working with a smoke machine. I loosen the tilt adjustment, hold the sprayer at the angle I want to spray the mist, set the tank horizontal, and then tighten the knob. This allows the tank to remain horizontal, making it easier to carry when fogging. The smoke machine isn't too loud, but loud enough that I wear ear protection for prolonged use. This fog machine is a multi-purpose device. It can be used for disinfection, insect control, odor control, mildew removal and many other purposes.
