Review on Nameraka Honpo Sana Isoflavone Foam Cleanser, 150G by Keri Diaz

Very functional, does what it's supposed to do for a minimal price, but mostly suitable for oily skin

This product has a lot of pros and cons. In my opinion, it's best for really oily, non-acne prone skin. I don't have acne problems, but my skin tends to be dry/dehydrated rather than combination at best, so that's something to keep in mind. First, I try to cleanse my skin two or three times. This is usually step 2 after a makeup remover balm or oil. It works well in that regard because it lathers up nicely and ensures that any "residue" is completely removed. To do this, you need to rinse very well, or a film will form on the skin. I lather the cleanser in my hands, then massage it all over my face — every nook and cranny. Your skin feels really "clear" like it's squeaky clean. However, this also means that all of your oils have been removed as well. I suspect the only way to make my face look that squeaky is to use Palmolive dish soap or something. I used to live for this feeling when I had oily skin so I don't think it's a bad thing since I put tons of oil on my face after washing. But if you have dry skin. will feel tense every second once you dry your face with a towel. Basically, I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and then went to my vanity. I switched to brushing my teeth first and then started the cleaning process because once that's done I'm going to make a spritz for my toners + oils + serums + moisturizers. However, I think I like it. My second step is solely to remove every ounce of makeup, SPF, dirt, grime, dust, and oily balm or cleansing oil I've used so I can appreciate the level of cleansing it gives me. I warn you that this product does not automatically "melt" from leftovers. It takes a good 1-2 minute massage to make sure it's all taken off, otherwise you'll find there's color left on the cotton pad while toning. I follow that with Peter Thomas Roth's Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel, 8.5 oz (linked here, but I always buy it from sephora.com to make sure it's authentic).

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No effect
