Rating = number of fingers without blood. The stand is just what I need - it holds my phone and is strong enough that I don't have to worry about it falling. The first time I stretched my legs, I pinched my thumb twice (you'd think I learned it the first time). It's not a big deal, I think I've learned my lesson, but be careful where you place your thumb when adjusting the clamps. Also, don't worry about the power when you pull out the legs. They seem wobbly but once you install the clamps they are perfectly solid.
