Cute not as big as the pictures

Good scratching posts my cats have liked so far. They had a terrible smell when first unpacked, so I recommend opening them up from the outside and letting them air out. However, cats get used to them fairly quickly and are happy to play with them in various configurations. Be aware of the sizes though as they look MUCH larger in the photos than they really are (these photoshopped cats must weigh around 2lbs to fit in this size). ). My photos show my 10 and 12 pound cats in the larger of the two scratching posts. Both of my cats have trouble using the smaller scratching post as it slips while scratching. The more the merrier, but not by much. Kittens probably won't have a problem. The smaller scratching post leans very easily when placed vertically as it wobbles due to the curved underside. I end up flipping it, not because I'm afraid the cats might hurt themselves, but because the sound of their intentional rocking in the middle of the night is pretty annoying. But they love it no matter what position they're in - in fact, they love it when I turn them on their side so they sit in the center and face up (like a box). Cardboard is not that thick. like my other scratches, and the sides don't have the right texture to scratch (see photo). There are also what appear to be water stains on some parts of the box and these areas are softer/less stiff than elsewhere. For these reasons, I'm wondering if they're worth their current price of $44.99. Recommended with reservations.
