Sigma = GREAT quality and even better VALUE
I prefer to use OEM lenses on my cameras, but I never discourage using Sigma. I bought 2 of these incredible lenses for almost the price of an equivalent Sony lens and the performance was pretty much the same. I'm looking forward to the new Sigma lenses in my kit! A lot of people put Tamron on the same level as Sigma, but in my experience they're not at all close. Overall, the Tamron looks a bit cheaper. In fact, more like what you would expect from a budget lens. On the other hand, Sigma, especially their Art series, is top notch!
