This device is from China. This might explain why the manual is confusing, imprecise, and written in Pidgin English. Example: the instructions do not explain how to charge a lithium battery and for a long time. So there is no way of knowing whether the loading process is complete or not. After several hours of charging, my device's screen still showed it was off - that's how they write "OFF". None of this is reassuring that you are dealing with a reputable company. I was about to return the item when I accidentally pressed the SWITCH and everything came to life. Despite the shortcomings and the ridiculous name KNEECAP TREASURE, I am satisfied with the device. It makes an annoying noise but is comfortable and really relieves knee pain. I did not receive the remote control.
