Terrible battery life

I've tried going the extra mile to turn off the keyboard when not in use but it's still eating batteries. Two sets of batteries gone in less than a month with very little use. It looks like it should discharge them even with the power button off. Maybe it's just a defect of this one and not a design flaw.

Pros
