I've had this potato for 6 months now and work with it late winter and most of the summer as a non-union bridge builder in my state. As expected, with Sud's size, you can bend the end if you try. As long as you don't use the push pin the slide works great, just needs a little wd40 from time to time (don't let beginners use your tools). Rusted in some places, but it's not critical. The black finish is present with shavings removed from the metal in some places. Now for the best part of this potato, if you are strong enough it will outperform any other large potato as it is light, small and easily processed for long periods of time. I'll buy another one if I break this one.
