Losing indexes, disconnecting from your computer, what's not to hate?

I'm a digital artist so I load and unload a lot of data from a drive like this and one of the things I noticed earlier was that it wasn't properly indexed. and while the program I was using could see the files, Windows couldn't. Then I noticed that although both connections are strong, the laptop I'm using keeps dropping connection making it completely unreliable and very frustrating. I will try to return.
