Review on πŸ“’ Piaa 85115 Superior Black Twin Tone Bass Horn, 112Db 330Hz and 400Hz by Gregory Shorunov

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tone - worth the price - great addition!

First a few disclaimers: ** Superior bass horn doesn't sound like it does in my video. It has been added to a single Ford OEM high frequency horn for a distinctive tone.** If you are unfamiliar with automotive electrical concepts, do not attempt this and consult a professional. I'm not responsible for any damage if you don't do this. **Before purchasing aftermarket horns, ensure you have easy access to the stock horn location and wiring. I was very lucky with a very complex 2 hour setup; but it was worth it. Review: PIAA's Superior Bass Horn sounds great and loud on its own; but I also found it to be a great complement to the "high" mouthpiece of any factory device. It consumes little power, thanks to which the fuses do not blow. I bought a Superior Bass Horn (SBH) to replace a burned out horn on my Mustang OEM kit. The result is a much better sound than the cheap "train horns" you find here at Revain. Adding a horn to any car can be simple or, in my case, extremely complex. Be sure to read the instructions and do not touch the screws on the SBH. SBHs are two wire horns and polarity is important. I connected this horn to two woofer wires with 14 AWG heavy-duty automotive wire, making sure the connections were tight and watertight. Update later to report on the long term quality of the PIAA Superior bass horn. why did i do it I liked the classic horn sound of my grandfather's Cadillac cars. , typically 400 Hz for a low tone and 500 Hz for a high tone. The combination of 300Hz and 400Hz PIAA SBH almost matches the high horn of any OEM kit, resulting in what you hear on video. In theory you can use the SBH with a PIAA 500Hz and 600Hz horn to get a four tone effect. I just didn't have the opportunity.
