The color tone was good. I have reddish-brown hair but not dark auburn. The red-brown was the right color tone but the application ends up being very heavy and dark. There is no way of just using a little for a lighter more natural effect. I tried using just the angled application and dotting it on then using the brush to thin it out. But it became spotty. I think if you have dark hair and like a strong brow this would work. I did like how it stayed on and did not rub off. Another issue I had was all of the templates were way too long for me. Unfortunately I had to return it.
