I will update this review after actually using it but just wanted to make notes based on first look. When you open the box, all the brushes are wrapped in plastic. There is a slight smell of detergent, but that doesn't bother me at all. If I had to say how it smells I'd say it's faint, like after you've used a marker like a felt tip pen, but once you're outside the smell goes away almost immediately. After removing them from the plastic, I fiddled around. With them all the bristles feel soft but firm for durability and not at all stiff like some cheap synthetic brushes and none of the bristles are broken which is great. In addition, there is paper in the small box that you can use as a guide for the preferred use of each brush. The only small downside I have to add is the size. They're more travel friendly than a standard sized brush and have a handle length I don't mind, but it wasn't what I wanted to buy. Some brushes also had a bristle or two misplaced, either because they were bent or just weren't cut to fit the others, and it's easy to fix by cutting them off or to the length of the other bristles.
