Near-perfect pedometer with one caveat

I used to buy cheap pedometers that I had to reset manually every day. Then I found the Ozeri 4x3razor Tri-Axis pedometer. It was probably the best pedometer I've ever used, apart from the limited 7 day storage. When the Ozeri 4x3 razor broke down after a year of use, I looked for another and found the Ozeri 4x3runner. What caught my attention was the 30-day storage. Compare the two pedometers, here are some positives and negatives. 4x3 razor Positives + Very small and thin + Very reliable + Calorie counting allows differentiation between fast/brisk and slow walking Negatives - Constantly falling out of belt clip - Failure for a year 4x3runner Positives + Very reliable + 30 day reminder! + Very durable belt clip Cons - Doesn't distinguish between fast/fast and slow walking when counting calories - Not as thin as a 4x3 razor The main disadvantage for me is that it doesn't distinguish between fast/fast and slow walking. I tested this by running a mile very slowly in 30 minutes with many stops and running a mile in 12 minutes at a brisk pace; Calories stayed the same. The 4x3 razor set her apart, so it gives me an incentive to go for quick walks. This is the only weakness of this pedometer and it was a deal breaker for me. If I get a pedometer in the future and this option isn't added, I probably won't get it again.

Pros
  • Designed for maximum versatility, the 4x3runner is the world's first dual-mode walking and running pedometer with a 3D 3-axis sensor (X, Y, Z plane detection) that offers superior accuracy in any position.
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
