It's not about the glaze YELLOW

I've read several comments where people paint their wooden objects and the details turn yellow and blame the product! it's "YELLOW", it's the wood paneling that oozes! To prevent this you must either seal the item BEFORE VARNISHING or RETREAT THE WOOD as the sealer will activate the original finish/stain causing it to PASS THRU the paint so your item will look great and the color will be perfect ! It's so perfect you'll want to save and protect it, but it's the final step in protecting that gorgeous new paint job that you've spent so much time on! The ONLY thing you can do is sand it back hoping it's deep enough to remove the original finish and or use a stain resistant primer on everything you've already done and brand new ones Paint on the *old* but personally I would sand it down, seal the piece well and repaint! If you are painting an item that you are unsure about bleeding through, do a test spot first and be sure to test on the area that is visible when the item is in its normal position. because they don't waste product for the whole, especially in the drawers that people keep things in, like a dresser drawer, because it can ruin the clothes, so testing those areas won't give an accurate result! So do a patch test with the paint and sealer you intend to use and test it 24 hours later by taking a photo before, just after, during and the last 24-36 hours later and comparing the shots , so you can see what happens when there are changes! I know my rating is LOOOOOOOOONG ridiculous but a lot of people don't realize bleeding is a thing and blame the product! I don't want to believe that people go through this over and over again thinking about one thing but actually another!

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Dubious purchase for the elderly
