Review on πŸ‘§ White Dress Girls by Deborah Lewis

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Too many unfinished vignettes

What happened to Ellen, who likes ugly boys? And Shannon, who was dating a political adviser? There were too many storylines. The author should have focused on 3-4 women and developed their characters more carefully. He also appeared extremely white and one-dimensional. Where were the women of color? Where were the LGBT women? It seemed unrealistic for a story supposedly set in New York. And because it seemed so one-dimensional, it turned out to be boring and banal.

Pros
  • Easy reading. All of the girls in the book are going through things that are interconnected. I read it in 3 days!
Cons
  • Didn't really grab me.
