Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens, black by Ada Kowalczyk ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are deviations, in general it is tolerable.

This lens is superb in every way except for one: the craftsmanship, which is the root of all of its other flaws, including missed focus, back/front focus, and a jammed af ring. I had 2 such lenses, 10 more pieces were reviewed when buying a used one and reviews from other photographers - everything converges to the fact that the lens does not withstand prolonged regular use. In all likelihood, we will never see version 2, and if that were to happen, purchasing version 1.2 of 50 would make no sense at all. Unfortunately, Canon's most popular focal length does not have a clear favorite. The Sigma Art is sharp, fast, but terribly large and heavy, and the picture is "flat." The rest of the lenses are either inexpensive toys or require manual masturbation, both of which are not an option for commercial photography. Hence, you are required to search for a happy medium between where to take 35 and where to take 85, and of course a 24-70 ll glass is appropriate for any event.

Pros
  • Light, quick, with a quick focus, and an excellent picture.
Cons
  • Reliability, reassurance, and further reassurance of reliability.
