Our daughter is a perfect toddler size 9.5, most of her shoes are a size 10 and she has plenty of room to grow. After reading several reviews, we decided to order 11 pieces. They were still too young. She could wear them, but they were too short and too tight. She has an average foot width. We then ordered a size 12 and 13. The size 12 fit just about, but was still quite tight and there was absolutely no room to grow. We chose size 13. They're a bit big but stay put and we like that they have room to grow. I would say that a size 13 is equivalent to a size 10 in normal shoes. I suggest ordering 3 sizes larger than your child usually wears. If it's a half size, order 2.5 sizes up for a very tight fit, or 3.5 sizes up for room to grow. The rubber band should hold them. Aside from the size issue, the shoes are great. Very cute and appears to be of good quality. Our daughter wore them to dance class and had no complaints. Note: I posted a photo on the product page.
