I believe using a sponge pad should provide tight control in FPS games with high-end mice. I've seen too many reviews of extra long pads in this price range that smell so strongly of neoprene that they shouldn't be used. weeks. Not so with this pad! From the faint smell of the balloon on the bottom, it looks like some kind of latex; Latex allergy sufferers should be aware of this. I hope this wears off with time too, especially since it's washable.
