Review on πŸ’ NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP HD Studio Translucent Finishing Powder by Jim Chick

Amazing product if you know how to use it!

If you are looking for a good value, high quality finishing powder this is it! I personally love this powder, it softens the rest of my makeup and gives me a smooth and finished look. Although I use very little (as little goes a long way), I love how it absorbs most of the oil from my face over a long period of time. Despite its size, I wouldn't say that I use it every day, but when I go out knowing that I'm going to take a lot of pictures! I was initially skeptical about the product before purchasing based on the "Flashback" and "White Face" reviews, but I can assure you that if used properly, you won't look spooky in photos! So I'm going to clarify a few things that might confuse some: 1. Since it's a finishing powder, you should only use it after you've applied everything - foundation, powder, bronzer, blush, etc. THEN this powder. 2. Use this ONCE ONLY! It's not touch-up powder or anything that offers extra coverage. So for everyone you meet with bakers this isn't the way to go (to be honest there really shouldn't be a finishing powder).3. You should use the least amount ANY TIME! Small things have a big impact. So look at your brush. Do you think it looks good? okay cool! Now shake off even more excess. trust me.4. To avoid white streaks and misalignment of perfectly applied makeup, don't forget to STRUCTURE powder! Also, when mixing, simply tap in in circular motions. The main ingredient in this product (and most finishing powders) is silicon dioxide. And for those who don't know, silica gel is highly holographic, meaning it has light-reflecting properties. AKA is a reflective ingredient. So if you use too much light and shoot with flash, the flash will bounce off your face and turn it white. But that's ONLY if you use too much! HD Finish Powders are designed to give a soft and smooth finish that is great for cameras and photos when used right! Personally, I like to use a black bristle kabuki brush because not only are they great for applying this powder, but they're also great for determining if you're using too much! If you see powder on your brush, you have too much powder. If you use the powder this way, you shouldn't have memory problems, just a flawlessly finished face!
