Review on ๐ŸŒ™ Chinook Supportive Pillow by Donald Blanco

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great price, easy to pack and better than a synthetic filled camping pillow!

I was a bit nervous when I ordered the Chinook Dreamer Pillow because the price of the camping air pillow was a bit lower than the more popular brands. I'm sure you've heard the saying, if it's too good to be true, then it probably is. Well I'm happy to announce that Chinook Dreamer is neither smoke nor mirror! I avidly read and digest negative product reviews when considering purchasing something, so I want to address the negative reviews for this product. Since there is no manual for this thing, I think that's why a lot of people had issues with the convenience. This is what I found after using this product for several nights. When I first received the product, I inflated it to the maximum, unscrewed the lid and put some heavy books on it to see if it would deflate within 24 hours. It's not like this! I then released some air to use as a pillow and found it was a bit uncomfortable because the air moves and expands to the side where your head isn't, causing it to bulge so it does does not support like a real pillow. This is, in my opinion, the experience of the negative reviewers. BUT I think I learned how to really use this pillow after fully deflating it. When I opened the vent lid and let the pillow deflate on its own (don't squeeze the pillow) you come back to find the foam inside the pillow has fully expanded/lifted! At this point, you close the vent cover and your head is resting on the foam. You can still adjust the height of the pillow by squeezing the pillow to the desired height and then tightening the cap again. My instructions would be: When you arrive at camp, fully inflate the pillow with a few puffs, leave the deflation cap inflated. Open the pillow and allow it to naturally deflate, allowing the foam to expand with the air you provide, and you'll then have more sleep foam than air. I tried sleeping with the air valve open and it behaved more like a real pillow, but it's weird when your pillow hisses at you at night :)
