The other comments about this bag being smaller than usual are true. I'd say it would be fine for elementary school, but anything above that just isn't big enough or strong enough. The zipper jammed after a week of use and the seams started to get very tight after a few months. We just bought a new bag before it was completely torn. This is a very pretty bag if you don't intend to use it very heavily.
