4/2019. Put this "silencer" into action today. He seemed to be in good shape. However, the box was in poor condition. He was naked in a priority mailbox that was too small for him. Then they fixed it, sealed it with tape, then ripped it apart and fixed it with tape. You could tell it was an afterthought because it was clear tape and the cardboard underneath was unevenly torn. It shouldn't have hurt him, but who knows. Anyway, it got noticeably louder after I installed it on my 19 hp engine. Allow to cool, seal checked. Everything was good. Everything was hot, I didn't notice any leaks. I tried it with the "Silencer" off - it sounds about the same as with it on. It basically just works like an exhaust pipe. It extracts some of the heat from the engine.
