Review on Keychron K3 V2: Ultra-Slim 84-Key Wireless Bluetooth/USB Wired Mechanical Keyboard, White LED Backlit, Low-Profile Gateron Brown Switch - Mac Windows Compatible by Ada Sutor ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied with the product, it is made well, the price is also pleasing.

This is my first mechanical keyboard (there were only membrane ones). I was afraid of loud buttons. However, here they are quieter than in membranes (I ordered a keyboard with noise insulation and lubrication). I do not regret that I took Claudia without a digital block. It's not very customary to type numbers, but tolerable. The biggest problems for me personally are three: too easy button presses; constantly flickering backlight mode; exit from sleep mode. At the same time, the keyboard has many advantages, I recommend buying it, a good thing! after 2 months. Replaced the red switches with banana ones. Excellent! Involuntary pressing disappeared, it became much more comfortable to use. Problems with accidentally pressing the button for switching the backlight mode and exiting sleep mode remained.

Pros
  • 1. Pleasant tactile button press 2. Compactness of the TKL format 3. A variety of backlights to choose from 4. fairly long battery life (2-3 days with backlight) 5. Stylish appearance 6. Quiet operation. Quieter than many membrane ones. 7. Convenient reliable two-stage legs 8. Durable aluminum bottom. 9. Build quality - nothing crunches, does not creak, does not play.
Cons
  • 1. Red switches push through too easily. It is enough to put a finger, and the button is pressed. For the same reason, when speed dialing, if you accidentally touch a neighboring key, it is pressed. The text has to be edited, erasing unnecessary characters. I'm trying to get used to it, but I'm afraid I'll have to switch to brown switches. 2. the surface of the buttons seems matte, and even as if rubberized, however, at a certain angle, the buttons reflect light quite brightly, glare. The characters become unreadable. 3. Cyrillic is not highlighted. 4. Very strange location of the charging LED. In order to understand whether it's time to charge the keyboard, you have to pick it up and turn it over. What prevented the LED from being placed somewhere under the space, or between the rows of buttons, in order to see it - I don’t know. 5. Why the button for selecting the backlight mode was moved to the very corner - it's not clear. I think that the user will choose the mode he likes once and stop there. That is, this button could be placed not in such a "trump" place, but somewhere in the middle (or better through Fn in general), and the usual Del should be placed in this place. If you accidentally press the backlight button (and this happens often), all modes (15 pieces) must be scrolled through again in order to return to your own. 6. Not a convenient algorithm for waking up from sleep mode. The keyboard sleeps for another 5 seconds, after pressing. It is necessary to turn off sleep, and use the off button, but it is also located inconveniently - at the back, and at the same time very small. That is, to turn it off, you need to pick up the keyboard and turn it over with the button towards you.

Different pros: The keyboard is excellent, the key travel is very pleasant + brown switches are quite quiet and do not interfere with anyone in the office Some cons: keycaps get dirty quickly, fingerprints remain, you need to clean often
