WARNING: DANGEROUS PRODUCT DESIGN!

WARNING: Due to the inconsistency of the product we have encountered we strongly advise against purchasing this product. Attached is an email I sent to the company about a dangerous product! This letter is requesting proper action following the purchase of any of the Baby Trend stroller/car seat combination products. We have encountered an unacceptable product defect. This is a product inconsistency that can result in fatal injuries to newborns. Customer service has not taken adequate action and the company should be aware of this, therefore a proper investigation is ongoing into this product recall which appears to be of 4 Baby Trend stroller product recalls currently. MAIN PURCHASE HISTORY FOR THIS PRODUCT: On April 5th, 2020 my significant other bought this stroller after looking at many other options; Revain's style, colour, comfort and good reviews were the reasons she chose your product. Our baby Arya was due in June, she was born on June 1st, 2020. During this COVID epidemic, we didn't use the stroller until July when Arya was a month old at the time. We took him to the store and to the park a few times to meet my sister and her 4 month old baby. Therefore, the stroller was only used for a month. THE CASE OF THIS DEFECTIVE AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PRODUCT: On August 4th, 2020, my partner Lauren Vito and I took my two boys and two month old daughter to the park that day. . Parking was limited and not very organized due to a construction site in the parking lot. As we got out of the car, we pulled the baby out of the car while he was buckled in the car seat. We correctly connected the car seat to the stroller. There was a curb blocking the stroller, so while Lauren pushed her, I told her that I would lift the car seat handle with her to move the stroller. When we moved the stroller, the car seat fell off the stroller. The natural reaction was to hold the car seat with the baby, but at the angle I was at the baby was face down and if not properly secured with the 5 point harness, would fall it out of the car seat. Lauren was in a stunned state of shock and in a mad state of mind. Then I placed the baby and car seat in the correct upright position and tried to assess the problem. The fastening clip "Snap Gear Adapter" which was not well attached to the car seat broke. We were very upset and I told her to take a picture of that exact moment so we could file a complaint. POOR PRODUCT DESIGN AND ASSEMBLY FROM CHINA: I am extremely dissatisfied with the product design and development of this car seat combination. It may look like a beautiful design, but this is a dangerous and poorly designed stroller. The biggest concern of parents is the safety of their child. This should also be the number one concern of any company offering a product to parents as customers. For example, I could not fully test the design and attachment function of this product. I would assume the clip attachment was a manufactured structural form of the car seat and not a cheap separate 2 bolt SNAP Gear adapter that literally screws into a plastic car seat anchor kit. How this product passed the structural integrity test I don't understand. The company should recall this product combination due to poor design and lack of structural integrity. Arya, our baby is 10 pounds. Under normal conditions of wear and tear, this should not, under any circumstances, occur with any product. The company needs to see this for what it is: a dangerous design flaw that could result in fatal injury to an infant. I understand that there is a supply and demand for such products, and everyone wants to make a quick profit and use China. This is a country known for manufacturing and developing US products, all of which are produced cheaply in an unethical environment where US companies benefit enormously from a failed government notorious for its human rights problems and sweatshops. This is another example of a failed system and cheap products. As a parent, it's embarrassing that you can no longer trust companies and their products. LOREN'S EMAIL AT CS11@babytrend.com: Lauren and customer service email #11 will be forwarded with this email. I told her to get in touch with you to take appropriate action. Lauren has never had to email or call about baby products and I apologize if this was not described with the specific details needed for a proper course of action. Although she spoke about the situation on the phone. Given the photos sent I would assume that the customer service engineer would recognize the seriousness of this situation but is clearly not trained to evaluate the product and this poor product design. There was no abnormal abuse with the product used for a month. This is strictly a design and manufacturing issue that your company needs to address, particularly to the public and customers who have purchased and use this product. This is not a realistic structural integrity design. Now I'm posting today's photos of our stroller and car seat combo in our yard. As you can see, this is poor design and can result in fatal injuries to babies if not handled properly. CUSTOMER SERVICE MARK C. "CS11@babytrend.com": Lauren spoke to Mark about this situation and he requested an email with pictures. I believe that his response was totally inappropriate under the circumstances. He suggested that due to the July 28 return policy expired, we send the product in for service as the correct parts cannot be repaired by consumers. We will never continue to use this unsafe product. I demand that appropriate action be taken. This is a full refund and a proper investigation into the recall of this product. COMPANY AND PRODUCTS: I supply products for installation. I am a senior glass company appraiser with extensive knowledge of defective products that we use in the community. The companies that do my business make cheap products that only last 20 years, especially most household products. The idea is to fuel the recycle loop so that it fuels the economy and we stabilize an efficient market. But this only created debt for many in the community. Every year I see a new product being introduced when engineers are forced to look for a cheaper way to manufacture them with specs that use fewer materials but still maintain the same ridiculous prices for a cheap product. That seems to be the case with this product line. FORWARDING TO THE APPROPRIATE MANAGER: Due to the lack of knowledge and experience by the Customer Service Department, I request that this email be forwarded to the appropriate chain management through the appropriate regulatory channels for appropriate action. I am writing this review to alert other potential consumers who are human parents of babies to my experience with this unsuccessful product. I will wait for the appropriate response from your company. If there is no proper procedure for a full refund due to an unsafe product, we will not use it and I will participate in the proper investigation of the product recall. It's about baby safety and reassuring parents that the product is safe. Please write an appropriate email reply. Dissatisfied customer, Joshua K.
