They work. I was skeptical, my son too, but it was the only thing we had once. Necessity ruled, children carried them and everything is fine. For kids who love drawing faces with traditional black eyes, this might not be as fun. But for parents who need to wash their face (and sometimes their shirts), this is definitely a workable solution. For a game, not the hottest day, low humidity (so moderate sweating), no problem. I don't know how they will behave in the tournament. I suspect that you will need new ones for each game. (But you do the same with wand-shaped black eyes)
