Review on Rugged Ridge 13551.28 Wireless Charging Phone Mount: Dash Mount System for Ultimate Convenience by Rashan Jimenez

I have had this mount for over 6 months now. Let's start with the good. On the plus side, it holds my phone very well. This replaced my original 13551.13 without wireless charging. My phone fell out of the original holder several times and the holder broke after less than a year of use. My phone has never fallen out of this new holder 13551.28 and I'm sure it will last longer than the first one. Now for the bad. Wireless charging just doesn't work. While in the holder, my phone (iPhone 8) shows it's charging but never actually charges. Tried with and without the case, didn't help. I wrote a Rugged Ridge and they said it should be plugged into a USB 3.0 port which is not available on any Jeep JK. I'm not an expert, but I understand that USB 3.0 is about data transfer speed and has nothing to do with power delivery. So I'm very suspicious of that statement. If you are looking for a good phone mount without charger, this is the one for you. But I would honestly consider the 67 Designs JK universal mount to be an overall better and more reliable solution. Update January 10, 2021: Rugged Ridge support contacted me and sent me a replacement charger. The replacement I received works much better! My old charger kept switching between green, flashing green, then red when trying to charge my phone. This stays green and charges the phone fast enough.
