While the wax heater works well, the beans smell very chemically and are almost unpleasant to breathe. The wax warmer pot doesn't stick, so we were able to easily remove the wax after it cooled. However, the way wax beans work is almost like working with a hot glue gun for all the threads of glue it leaves behind, so we ended up with a ton of fibrous wax on the outside of the pot, the machine itself, which I can't imagine coming out how to remove. . The wax strings still wouldn't come loose after cooling and now the black part of the machine looks disgusting. The wax, once applied to (the foot), cools down very quickly, which is both a good thing and a bad thing because I didn't have to wait long before taking it off, but it's harder to apply as smoothly as a traditional honey wax. He did a good job, but there isn't as much hair in some spots on the leg as I was hoping. This can happen with regular/traditional honey wax, so I guess it's not that uncommon. The smell of this wax is much worse than regular honey wax and almost smells like burnt plastic. If you look at the ingredients, it's no wonder it smells that way. The pot didn't want to maintain a constant temperature and I had to stop and keep adjusting because the wax was getting sticky. The idea of using wax that I don't have to worry about always having enough strips of muslin on hand is good (in theory), but I think it's quicker and less messy than using those beans. The paddles that come with the kit are very fragile and more difficult to handle than the big regular sticks that look like thick popsicle sticks. They have a wider spatula end but a much thinner body, making them prone to breakage. I used to work in a full waxing salon and we used traditional honey wax/muslin strips. I prefer them to this car and wax beans. This might be fine for small areas of wax, but it's far from ideal for legs. Between the intermittent heating of the machine, the very plastic/chemical smell of the grains, and the wax's tendency to leave threads of wax on the machine when removed, I'm not a fan.
