Review on Foam Pneumatic Walker Brace/Walking Boot By Aircast FP by Mario Newton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked great- excellent price

I fell late at night on the one ice patch that remained after a melt. My other foot was on solid ground and didn't give. It resulted in a broken fibula and bad ankle. sprain. Realizing I would have to be immobilized a couple of months I got on line and ordered this. It came a couple of days late due a blizzard which conveniently arrived right after I broke my leg. The splint the orthopedist wanted to sell me costs twice as much and didn't have the air bladders which are very handy for adjustments with decreasing swelling and to give better fit. It is easy to walk in, but if you are on crutches be very careful to go slow and not trip as the crutches are levers which will send you flying without recourse of regaining your balance.I can testify to that. The transition from this boot to regular walking was not easy. Rather like being on a boat with white capping waves. Also be sure to wear shoes with the same height as the boot or you will torque out your back. I put insoles in to keep from overpronating. I wish I could say my ankle was good as new. But I still have some healing to do. I wasn't the greatest patient.

Pros
  • Breathable materials prevent sweat buildup and promote comfort
Cons
  • The brace may not provide enough ankle support
