I don't know if I received a defective one but it was too late to return it after my kids pulled their ponytails out of their hair wanted to remove doll hair. My first impression was that the doll is beautiful. But upon closer inspection, I saw that her eyes weren't blue, they were purple. I wanted this doll to be my daughter's American Girl version, who has dark brown hair and blue eyes. She also has hair. I don't know, disgusting? It looks greasy and sticky. Except she has bald spots all over her head. The seller's picture looks lush and thick. It's not like this. I bought this for my daughter based on the high ratings and as I said it may be defective but not worth the $22 in my opinion.
