We have had this camera for 3 months now and it is not as good as my old Olympus 10x optics. I tried to take a picture of a brown recluse just for comparison and couldn't get the macro to work. A few days ago I tried to zoom in on some boats in the distance. Aside from being recognizable as houseboats, there's not much good about them. I took some of the best shots with my droid phone and was able to blow them up and then crop the excess including a close up of the spider. I had some cameras that were beyond my capabilities. This one isn't as smart as my skills should be. I think my Canon SLR and Olympus were better at taking good photos without having to manually adjust. The panorama function is good and takes nice long videos (for the camera). And it takes good photos when you snap a no-fuss shot up to 30ft in good light or within flash range. I recommend going somewhere where you can test the features better than I can. If I could I would send it back and find another one. Doesn't work as I expected for the money.
