I won't even proceed with my first review because it really only focused on the steam function and I got and was a bad copy really freaked out about it. Honestly, it happens. but the PUR Help Desk intervened and saved the day. They emailed me explaining where the broken part was supposed to be and FAST sent me a brand new iron for free. So now I can write the review I wanted to write when I first got this iron! PUR is the company that makes probably the most well-known vertical steamers for things like curtains, dresses, and suits. I think that's why it's such a good iron for the price. So this is definitely a light to medium iron. As you can see I have two others that I am comparing today. The expensive ORECK and popular Rowenta are both slightly heavier (before adding water, of course. And they're MUCH more expensive than PUR). I find them well balanced and contain plenty of water for vaping. It doesn't have a fancy bottle nose, but honestly, with the exception of some shirts and blouses, that slightly narrower nose on Rowenta doesn't make much of a difference to most normal things you'll be ironing. HEAT: PUR definitely has higher top heat than others, so be careful. Now, if you have to handle an entire basket of cotton dining linen, or a chair cover, or a denim canopy, the extra heat will make it that much better. STEAM: Steam has 3 modes; off, weak steam and strong steam. is selected by a conventional and simple thumb lever placed in the perfect spot to move without stopping the flow. The low steam output is great for most things that require a typical amount of steam. High vapor output is great! It produces a lot of vapor. Vapor that penetrates very well too. And now the most important thing - the vertical steam pearl "Steam Boost Buttons". He just wins. The jet of steam comes out stronger than Rowenta and Oreck and spreads further. I should post a video showing them. This Roventa is also only a month or two old so that would be a great comparison. A polyurethane iron pushes steam harder and further, like its big vertical polyurethane brothers. I wear suits most of the day and it helps smooth out wrinkles as well as a SPECIALIZED Vertical Steamer. So this is a SUPER useful tool. And of course that is exactly what you need for regular ironing. It's a big puff of steam, but it doesn't matter if you suddenly find yourself in a scalding hot cloud or the like. Not at all. The knob lever feels solid and comfortable under your thumb. to win. The SPRAY function is also good. A large, easy-to-press toggle button and a fairly standard amount of water dispensed right in front of the iron with no drips. My poor example that I received had steam failures at first which also leaked water to work, but the replacement is absolutely fine. . There really isn't any water flowing anywhere. As most of the other reviews on here say. CORD LENGTH is slightly longer than Oreck and Rowenta, so that's another plus. The WATER TANK is a good size and mostly transparent so you can easily see how much you have inside. Yes, it can run out quickly if you're using a lot of vapor, but that's what happens when you get a lot of vapor. Like Rowenta and most others, the FACE PLATE is made of stainless steel. You'll need to clean it from time to time, but that's just the standard. I tried "ceramics" like CHI and was very disappointed. Didn't save it. Oreck has a masterful TEFLON faceplate and almost NOTHING builds on it and I wish PUR or others could have that, but TEFLON faceplates seem to have disappeared from the market so maybe it will become a banned chemical thing. I understand. TEFLON is a pretty nasty thing that you really don't want to see in your body. OK. YES, the temperature scale is RIGID. That's really the only downside to this otherwise excellent iron. Many other people have pointed this out and they were not wrong. The dial layout and markings are pretty standard, but yeah, sometimes it's really hard to turn. And a little difficult to read. If you are struggling with weakness or arthritis in your hands or fingers, this iron may not be for you. So I took 1 star out of 5 and gave this great affordable iron a 4 out of 5. I would like to give it 4.5 stars. Even if the decision was difficult. Your customer service was AMAZEBALLS. As good as I've ever seen in a product that didn't look like a car or something. It was a new experience for me and I felt like this company was determined to stay on top for the RIGHT reasons. Very cool. Thank you Diana! This iron has so many winning qualities. I use it almost every day but not for hours or anything - it's still home use. Just a busy house and I occasionally do some tailoring and alterations by word of mouth on the side. Balanced longer cord, great vapor and OH YES. It heats up FAST! I love it. And the fact that this great tool is just as affordable really makes me give it 5 stars, but the hard dial can really be a problem for those with arthritis or any other hand weakness issue. But apart from that single question I have to say that I think this iron IS THE BEST VALUABLE IRON THERE. * * * * At this price I can seriously buy another one or two as spares. I think that says it all. * And this is from a company that existed and is still mostly American. (Given that everything is globalized to some degree these days.) But folks, don't up the price just because it's a great iron at a great price! Let it be what everyone has and you will remain superstars.
