Review on 🐱 Ultimate Cat Playground: Wall Mounted Scratching Post, Shelves, Hammock, and Steps! by Randy Robinson

Cheap materials and poor workmanship

I don't normally write reviews but I had to review this product as I am very dissatisfied. From the moment I unboxed it I knew it was poor quality. I bought it along with 5 other brands of cat wall furniture and out of 5 this was the second most expensive yet somehow the worst construction and material of all. The scratching post(s) are simply made from a cardboard post poorly wrapped with inferior quality jute rope. The moment I took it out of the box, I saw tears in the jute rope. The wood itself was low quality plywood, similar to the scraps you could find for free at Home Depot, only worse. But I wanted to visit it again because going back would be too much hassle. So I went ahead and assembled it and drilled it into my walls. I had to use my own screws, I had to be very careful with the drill bit because the wood was so cheap it looked like it would burst from the screws. I had to use one of the ladders that came with the kit to stabilize the bottom shelf as it was also flimsy. And after all that work, it took my cats four days to lean over it and feel unsafe on it, to the point where they won't even step on it with two paws anymore. My cats weigh around 8-10 pounds so they are medium sized indoor cats and it shouldn't look too bad with exposed cardboard and plastic parts on the verge of bending and breaking like bending cardboard out of a paper towel roll. All in all I wish I had followed my gut instinct and sent the item back once I opened the box and saw how poor the quality was. Now I have to work hard to get it off the wall and take it apart to return it. Deeply dissatisfied.
